What is Custom Field?

These are unique additional fields that you can create as needed in your company for employees, teams, branches, etc. and they are called Custom fields.

This one is among the most customizable platform sections:

By clicking in the Custom fields area, the company owner will be able to add more useful data like emergency contact, social information, etc.

These are unique additional fields that you can create and customize as needed in your company for yourself, employees, teams, groups, or any other.

What types of fields can be added?

Text field - an empty field where the user can just type the required data in a text format. This is the most simple and popular type of field to add:

Number field - the field where it's possible to enter numbers only. It can be used for entering phone numbers, codes, etc;

Richeditor field - this type of field is necessary when you need to add some information that requires formatting. Here is an example:

Select Field - allows you to make several options to choose from a list. Here is an example:

Toggle Field - lets you easily control a binary option with a single interaction. It works like a switcher and is usually used for yes/no answers and so on. Here is an example of such a field:

Time Picker - allows to pick up time on the clock:

Date Picker - allows to pick up a date on a calendar.

You may add a placeholder to any type of a field.

What is a Placeholder?

Placeholder is the text shown inside of a field, often giving some input hints, instructions or examples, such as "Enter your email address" or an example of information that should be entered.

Here we specify a placeholder while creating a field:

So, it helps the user to understand what they should enter in this very field.

How to create a new custom field?

To add additional fields, click on "Add group" in the upper right corner:

In the new window, specify the field's name and choose the type.

For example: Name – Social Information – Type: Employee, and then click on "add group":

And a newly created field will appear in a list. Click on it, and click again on "add field" and choose the type of field that we require:

Specify a label (required) and a placeholder and click on "create field".

Placeholder is the hint of what should be entered.

You can create several fields in this way, that will relate to this group.

You may click on the "optional field" button to turn it into "required":

Then the newly created field appeared in a list.

Publishing

You may publish it right away from here by moving a switcher:

By clicking on this new record, you may enter its settings and publish it from there, or you may delete it:

When everything is done and the current Custom field has been published, it appears in the location you chose: assets, employee information, office or team:
